The Vision

The humidity rises, leaving these lands soon enough; only a swift chill will take over. For now the earth is wet. Wilderness is easily visible throughout the thinning leaves of trees. Dark birds hover on boughs and tiny creatures skitter along a brown floor. As the summer heat leaves with it's high sun, dark clouds move in to cover the light. The rains are coming, ready to drown out the earth in full rivers and muddy slopes. The ocean waves beckon every storm closer with a churning fury. Far past the shadowed mountains, in every valley and plain strong winds clutch at the dying grasses and shrubs. In the forests and woods, trees take their last nutrition and discard the useless leaves in a carpet of oranges, browns, yellows. A red hue seems to take over the lands. Autumn is here, bringing with it a temperamental world. Now is the time to prepare for the cold of winter as coats grow thick and shelter becomes scarce.

Aerandir has made some very lovely, and detailed characters having only started playing Viridian Storm recently. When in subject of her characters, you will find originality and also very interesting names that will draw you in to wondering what their personalites must be like. We hope to see even more unique names and characters from her.
WELCOME TO VIRIDIAN STORM
Realistic Wild Horse RPG

Viridian Storm started not as it is today. It would take over two years to achieve what is now the known Viridian Storm. it all started in June of 2005 with a small and new Horse RPG known as Storm Islands. It was run by a friendly and nice admin and it had all the basics of any horse RPG. But it didn't go above and beyond. Members began to join; come and went -- as do with most RPG's and it continued it's sort of here-and-there existence. To many people it seemed a done website. Hosted by proboards and with the most basic of skins and images. But it was new and not everything is born with how it will end to be. Many friends were made at Storm Islands. Not just the regular "hi and hello" sorts. They stuck with each other since the beginning of Storm Islands until they would depart Viridian Storm. Looking Glass and another friend of hers were close to the admin of Storm Islands and they began to help with the further creation of the site. They had a few members now but more were needed to have a fun and active atmosphere. Soon affiliates were made; and it just so happened that one of these affiliates admins would visit Storm Islands. It was nearing Storm Islands second year in running. When they came to the site, they asked the members and the co-admins, as the main admin was not on, why we had stolen land names and rules. It was a shock and a blow to all the members on Storm Islands. It was especially hard for Looking Glass who had taken the once plain and simple Storm Islands and turned it into a more regal version of itself. The admin was questioned and the truth came through. She had stolen more than half the information on Storm Islands, from another more well-known and active site. The decision became clear and finally unanimous---They would have to shut down Storm Islands. Some people may have looked upon this situation as an ending of things. Thinking that they could never remake what they had worked so hard to build up. But in the case of the Storm Islands and what it used to be, everyone knew they could start again. So with the determination of making a better and more popular site, the members followed Looking Glass, who would be the admin, and the co-admins and everyone who had been friends and planned to work together. This place needed a name, and still clinging to the memory of their once beloved Storm Islands, they decided upon a name that would incorporate the new with the old. Viridian Storm. Bluest of ocean depths that would surround the place and a storm--explaining how they got there. Viridian Storm was created in April of 2007 and has seen many great and original members join. Some have stayed with deep friendships found, and others had left, seeking their futures elsewhere. No matter what path's anyone had chosen in their lives, it is still a great feeling to know that just a small band of little people could take turmoil and turn it around into something more grand and imaginable than before.

Giraffe is...let's say 'unique'. Conceited, Surly, Harsh and a little bit insane. He's certainly one of the more forceful guys on the block, and he doesn't mind flaunting his superiority when need be. Clever and witty, he seems to know just about every trick in the book. It wouldn't be surprising to see this stallion go great lengths at Viridian Storm.

Upon entering the land of Viridian Storm you come across a wood of abounding beauty. The trees a vibrant green that puts even the newest spring grass to shame. As you venture to the heart, a beck is the first wonder you come across. If you follow the trickling sound of this beck, lowering down a slight edge of boulders, you stumble upon the deep crystal blue spring. The sun's showering rays beam through the break of canopy. The spring is noticeable throughout the forest, and is an area you find yourself captivated with wishing never to leave the lands. To the west of here is the Seer's Land. For a moment, you falter at its beauty... this is Claimer's Weald, a place for stallions to come in search of new coming mares in need of a herd.

Upon first entering Viridian Storm, you will find it covered around the shores in nothing but vast and breezy beaches. Some are dirty, and grimy, other parts are changing with the seasons. Most of the beaches are untouched by the changes of seasons. Their pure white sands running off into a crystalline ocean. Palms and sea grasses scatter around the area. This place is perfect for getting away from frigid snows and to cool off in the bated heat of summer. Meet with an old friend or just take a swim.

To the west of the Claimer's Weald if you should travel onwards, the trees become sparse. The grasses taller. The beginning of far off mountains is birthed here. The slopes and hills of the dense Weald culminates to one large hill. They call this place the Seer's Land, for you can see far off when you are at its top. Its lighted atop with vast boulders and rocks. Lichen grows atop every surface of the mottled rocks and grasses are tall and plentiful. Snow falls heavy here in the winter months, the very tips of the grasses peaking out from the white blanket. Spring and summer enrich the place with green grasses and autumn barely touches here. All can come here and enjoy the scenery and perhaps make some company.

This is a place for Mares and Stallions who are not so lucky in finding a home. There are four herds that can roam here. When the time comes for a lucky Stallion to finally get a land of his own he may or may not choose to take one of the other stags with him. But this is only if he is lucky, The Stallion that got the land does not have to take anyone with him.

This land is for loners.

Foals always are with their mothers. Some choose to be so, or some mothers are clingy to their offspring. Mill Hollow is the sanctuary for both. Mothers seeking protection for their young, And the foals, a chance to stretch their limbs and meet the others. It is a lush clearing in the center of all the terras: shared, light, and dark, so parents can keep an eye out on those little guys. Flowers are always here every summer and spring, they range from every color of the rainbow. The sun is visible through the circle of trees making it nice and warm in the hotter months. And it is a wonderland filled with adventure in the crisp winters. Colts and fillies learn great social skills and make friends. Their interest sparked by crickets, playing tag, napping and grazing here in the safest terra.

A forest of trees bind together to form a barrier of canopy. Between the shrubs winds a rushing flow of aqua, forcing its way through the towering pines. If one would choose to follow this river, it would lead them into a vast field of lush vegetation only one can dream of. The stench of femora rests gently on the tufts of grass, declaring this place to the feminine essence. I place where mares can come to socialize, spread their wings among other mares. Alignments mix and dwell with one another. There tends to be a peaceful air about without the demanding presence of the stallions.

A vast range of terrace stretches far beyond the horizon. Within its borders retreat the stallions burdered with their stresses and duties of leadership, or just plainly in need of the company of his fellow masculin's. Whicever it be, stallions gather here with the intentions of socializing. There is scarce shade with mainly miles of plain vegetation. However the very stream that runs through the retreat of the Femora also happen to wander through the stallion's land aswell.

[ ]Deepshadow Cove
There are some places where not even the wind dares to blow. Not a shimmer of grass or the scent of a flower lingers. In those places there is only the black sleet of rock and the grinding coarse sands. Acrid waters that stew kelp and foamy bubbles with a stench of salt that is burning to the eyes. A wide overhand of crumbling obsidian and cave slime covers the expanse of Deepshadow Cove; blocking out nearly all reach of the sun. Its waters too festering and dirty for any thing to live near. This place is shrouded in a shadow from the lack of sun, its sharp shells and sand cool to the touch. Only the clever and cunning can hope to slither their way to these parts. Here others come to sneak something that is not theirs. The sly creatures that use brains, not brawn, to win thier prize.

Blood. Sweat. Pain. Suffering. Death. Things that could await many who trespass upon these lands. Some seek glory, others merely want the chance of having a better life then they have known. Come here, but do not expect mercy. Stallions seek each other out, some with intentions of murder. They may wish for the blood of others, and fight to no end to taste the harsh metallic of it. Rules are strict here and deeply enforced. Be wary, for all can be caught up in the midst of raw and unimaginable blood lust.

You've come across many things in your life. Happiness. Sorrow. Danger. Safety. You have trekked silently against savage winds and up unforgiving mountains. Your feet have danced through thick grass and unending plains. Though things may not have been as you thought, you have lived your life. Whatever you have done is what made you who you are. And now, in gentle quiet you seek to rest. Beyond the boundaries of the main terras and descending down a gentle slope is the creation of hot sulfur pools. The place is silent and calm and rested. Nothing stirs here and the leafless trees have bent in their old age. Beige sands coat like soft feathers and the earth pools steam upward into a gray sky. Rest here forever more and be taken away with the Ebbing Winds.

These lands are for dying.

Renegade Domains

Near the center of the Viridian Continent is a wide and vast smattering of unclaimed territories. They have always been referred to as the Derelict's Grounds. It's mainly a central expanse that curves over to the east of the continent. The ecosystem here is plain. A few high hills towards the north and of course plenty of trees. But mainly this area is made up of plains and a few lakes.

Off of the coast, branching out from the earth in the west is a large peninsula. Its jagged path that leads to the large outcrop is a dangerous one. Rocks and silt crumbling from the edges everyday at the bidding of ocean surf. Those that have no quarrel with Light or Dark reside here.

The Western Regions border the Viridian High and Lowlands. This place has a variety of landscapes, from cliffs to rivers. Its edge lies on the ocean, and those that inhabit the cliffs can scope out a view of the Neutral Peninsula, though none travel to the place.
